Softball Bags - Don’t Start The Season Without One

Let's face it - softball players have a lot of equipment and gear to lug around. Softball bags are the best way to keep the bats, gloves, cleats, water bottles, keys - and anything else that a player may have - organized and in one place. Without the softball equipment bag, school buses and locker rooms all over the country would be a disorganized mess and equipment would get lost or damaged. If you are in need of a softball bag, here are a few things to keep in mind when shopping.

Softball Equipment Bag - Two Basic Varieties

The softball “locker” bag is probably the one most familiar to people as this type is most common amongst professional ball players. Designed to hold multiple bats (some bags can hold 8 bats or more!) and transport just about everything except the kitchen sink, the softball locker bag is generally around 4 feet long and 12 inches or more wide and maybe 8 inches high. Bags made out of nylon and PVC can be hosed out after use so they are easy to keep clean but they are generally more expensive than the other type of bag - the backpack.

Backpack bags can usually only hold up to two bats and they are not designed to carry around as much equipment but they remain a favorite of high school players thanks to their smaller size and ease of transport. People can usually find a high quality backpack bag for around $50 but be sure to look for those made with extra padding in the straps to avoid strain on the shoulders. Also, much like the softball locker bag, backpacks made out of PVC can be hosed out after use and kept like new.

No matter which bag you think best for you, greater selection and lower prices can usually be found with online retailers due to their lower operating costs. Plus, online merchants offer expert advice and will help you find the equipment bag best suited for you and your budget.
